This morning, you will head south to Wexford. This Viking town was settled in about 800 AD and the streets still have their ancient layout. Visit Hook lighthouse (oldest working lighthouse in the world), Johnstown Castle (once home of the Fitzgerald family), Dunbrody Famine ship (learn of the emigrants sad and inspiring stories), or the Kennedy Homestead (home of JFK’s family ancestors) in New Ross. Finally, you will arrive at your Waterford hotel and enjoy some fine dining and great views while you unwind.

Take the day to explore the Boyne Valley, at the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East. First, you will visit Newgrange (c 3,200 B.C.), the best-known monument of the World Heritage Site of Brú na Bóinne, predating the ancient Egyption pyramids by 400 years and England's Stonehenge by 1000. The fantastic visitors center draws you into this ancient world and helps you discover life for these ancient Irish farmers so long ago. Visit Monasterboice (an early Christian site with a round tower and 10th century High Cross), the famous Hill of Tara (seat of the high kings of Ireland) or Trim Castle (Ireland's largest Anglo-Norman castle, recognizable as part of Mel Gibson's movie "Braveheart" castle film set). You will return to your hotel for a good night sleep before your flight home.
